Three generations of logistics in the family

News / 3 December, 2015

What started down in the basement in Ekebäck 23 years ago has now grown to become one complete logistics company. The journey towards business in the transportation industry started however even earlier than that for the Törnqvist family.

– Both our parents were entrepreneurs and worked with freight and forwarding their whole lives, so you can say that it is in our genes, says Karin Törnqvist, one of three co-owners of InterEast.

The family’s motto of being hands-on and close to the business is something they have always worked for.

– We often say that every gram weighs just as much as the next and that we deliver with the same level of precision to all of our clients. We therefore make sure to have control over the whole process in order to ensure that the client is always satisfied, adds Karin Törnqvist.

Today, even their son Oscar is actively involved in the business. The trio share that what binds them together is the persistent drive – the harder a challenge all the more fun it is. To name an example, while Karin contributes with her knowledge in behavioral science and marketing, Peder does his share with industrial science and Oscar with economics and logistics.
