Release Notes: New features enable more accurate bookings in Elise

We are excited to announce the release of Booking Revamp for Elise. This release brings several new features and improvements that we believe will enhance your overall experience and productivity while creating bookings in Elise. Below will contain an overview of all the key features and improvements that have been added.

New Features

Within each mode of transport lies what we call Submodes. You will be able to create specific types of bookings that fit your transport and logistics need. Each submode offers different capabilities and benefits, making selection of them important to determine how your booking is shaped. All of which will be explained in detail below.

Another new value that you can see in Elise will be the Total Chargeable weight. This value is used to help determine transport costs based on both weight and space occupied. Will be visible as soon as the Sender and Receiver has been selected in the goods table, and in the booking view pages. According to industry standards, the value will also differ depending on which countries and mode has been selected for the booking.

Road

Our new Part Load (Road) option means that you will be able to create bookings that would secure loading space on a truck. This option would be a cost-effective alternative if you have smaller loads to transport.

As seen in the image below, after selecting the Part Load option, all that is needed for the goods section of the booking is the Total Weight, Space and if you would like to specify info about the items that will be transported.

Our new Full Truck Load option (FTL) means that users would be able create bookings that would secure the entire loading space of a truck. This option would be a cost-effective alternative if you have substantial quantities of goods that needs to be transported, or if you don’t want to mix your goods up with others.

As seen in the image below, once the FTL option is selected, the total space is already prefilled to standard FTL sizes. So you would only need to fill the Total Weight or if you want to specify information about the goods that you would like to send in the truck with the specify items button.

The Sprinter option means that users would be able to create bookings that would secure smaller and more direct vans for transporting compact loads. Compared to the Part Load (Road), they’re a cost-effective alternative for fewer goods over a short to medium distance. Especially effective in local urban areas.

With the image below, after a Sprinter option is chosen, the total space is also prefilled with Sprinter standard sizes. Needing either the Total Weight or if you want to specify the items that the Sprinter will be transporting.

Below is a completed example, using a Part-load case with items being specified. You can choose to either submit the below using only the Total Weight & Space filled out, or filling out as done below with the amount of goods.

Sea & Rail

If selecting either the Sea or Rail option, both offer the same types of submodes, our new Less than Container Load (LCL) option gives you the ability to create bookings that would secure space in a shipping container. This alternative would be cost-effective for shipping smaller loads or if you don’t need to book out an entire shipping container.

Similar like the Part Load option in Road, and seen in the image below, all that is needed from the goods side of the booking is the Total Weight, Space and Items if they are known and need to be mentioned in the booking.

The Full Container Load (FCL) option allows you to create bookings that would secure an entire shipping container for transport. This alternative offers a shipping method that is solely dedicated to your shipment, ideal for large quantities of goods.

With this submode, you are given the option to have either one or multiple containers in a booking. Only requiring you to fill out the type of container you need, Total Weight and the items that need to be part of that container.

If you have questions about which container is needed for your goods, please contact either our sales or operations team to inquire about what each type of container offers for your goods.

Air

The Part Load (Air) option allows you to create booking that secure loading space for air transports. This option offers a fast alternative for larger distances, ideal for a small to medium amount of goods. If the Sea alternative is too long and troublesome, this would be the best option for a booking.

If selected, users need to fill out the necessary goods information for Air bookings. Information filled out in the item table gets automatically pushed up to the Total Weight & Space row. Otherwise, users can also select to fill out the total information manually.

Courier

The Part Load (Courier) option has similar aspects as the Part Load (Road), in which users create bookings that secure sharing space on various types of transports. This option offers a cost-effective alternative when it comes to smaller sized goods / parcels, recommended for quick and easy bookings.

Likewise with the Part Load (Air) option discussed above, the requirements are similar in style. Requiring items to be filled out, and/or filling out the total weight and space for the goods to be sent.

Small Improvements

Visual display in the booking page

Along with the upgraded features for submodes, the booking page has been given a lift to accomadate for the added information that will be on each bookings. As seen in the image below for a booking, the goods table clearly displays exactly what Mode, Submode and goods have been booked. Several examples are shown:
